THE MOURINHO EFFECT
Jose Mourinho is box office. When he became manager of Tottenham after his dismissal at Man Utd, hopes were high. The Mourinho Effect (that is the chaos and disaster that often marks the end of his managerial tenures) was already widely acknowledged. The high highs that Tottenham were hitting were often accompanied by low lows. Side effects of potential success if you will.
After a trip to the USA a few months before, I became struck by the bizzare nature of US drug ads. Firstly, because they have prescribed drug ads on TV and secondly because they often end with a minute long ramble about side effects.
With Tottenham experiencing some potential side effects of their own, it was time to intriduce the world to The Mourinho Effect as they’ve never seen it before.
